Yesterday my wife and I had to go downtown on the bus. We entered - TopicsExpress

Yesterday my wife and I had to go downtown on the bus. We entered the bus and noticed a school boy in front of us who had a card for the bus was rejected. My wife and I sat down looking at the young man not knowing what to do. While it was on my mind to pay for the boys fair my wife uttered the words to me Hey bb can we pay for the boy to ride the bus? And I immediately said, thats what I was thinking too and so we did. The boy was relieved and we were glad to do it, but heres where the lesson from God came to me. Many times when we do things for people we try to analyze the person to see if they are deserving of benevolence, but this is not the definition of grace. Grace is unmerited favor. So maybe if we would extend grace to more undeserving people (like ourselves) it would breed less self-righteous and self-condemnation and truly exemplify the cross Jesus died on!
