Yesterday, on Primarily Primates land in San Antonio, we noticed an intruder was there as cigarette smoke was smelled after closing. So we searched our fields and found a bolt -- an arrow from a cross bow. A game warden was called who told us the hunter-poacher was shooting from a tree line, and the arrow from a cross bow covers 30 - 50 yards. No blood was on the arrow, so the arrow missed its target, but undoubtedly the arrow was intended for a feral hog, sika deer or other wildlife who find refuge at the sanctuary. What a miserable, diabolical lot. Its not enough that they have more than 8,000 canned hunts in Texas -- fenced estates to mutilate innocent, defenseless animals. They sneak onto sanctuary land, also. Weve initiated a full-blown investigation, well go to the wall to identify and prosecute these perpetrators. -- Priscilla Feral
