Yesterday one of our volunteer was contacted by a local woman who was caring for two dogs that had been dumped near her home, which is located in a rural area. She discovered them two weeks ago, covered in ticks and emaciated, and did a great job removing the ticks and fattening them up, but could not locate an owner. They have a senior dog in their home, so she made a warm, dry place for them in the barn while caring for them and trying to find help for the two boys. It was clear she wants the very best for them and we thank her for keeping them safe! We went to meet the boys last night and they are very young, likely 6-7 months old. Both are sweet, playful, and did great with a dog we brought with us to meet them. They just want to play and act like silly pups and we couldnt bare the thought of the nights getting colder, so they hitched a ride back with us! Theyre now warm, bathed, and comfy with full bellies and toys to play with. We havent thought of names yet, but will think of some great ones soon! Welcome to the family kiddos, and Happy New Year!
