Yesterday six members of the Board of Supervisors voted to approve - TopicsExpress

Yesterday six members of the Board of Supervisors voted to approve a new law that claimed to regulate home-sharing. I voted against the measure and want to explain why. I support home-sharing and Im proud that our city is home to the largest share economy company in the world. But at the end of the day civic pride doesnt mean that we offer AirBnB, which has an estimated worth of $10 billion, what amounts to a tax break of $25 million. Allowing big corporate tax breaks sells San Francisco short by selectively enforcing who should and who should not pay their fair share. At a time when working class and middle class San Franciscans are struggling to make ends meet, offering massive tax breaks to big corporations just doesnt make sense. 48hillsonline.org/2014/10/08/supes-side-airbnb-will-wind-ballot/
