Yesterday, the House passed (412-0) the Hire More Heroes Act. The legislation would encourage companies to hire more American veterans while providing relief from the Affordable Care Act’s onerous employer mandate. I am a sponsor of the companion legislation in the U.S. Senate and am hopeful it will soon be considered in the new Congress. Veterans who have served our nation with duty and honor deserve job opportunities when they return to civilian life. The Hire More Heroes Act would make it easier for businesses to consider hiring veterans amidst the continued delays and confusion of Obamacare, while also helping to make certain veterans can support their families.
