Yesterday the Town of Thompson welcomed Senator Kirsten Gillibrand to our Thompson Town Park to announce bipartisan legislation expand the USDA Summer Food Service Program which feeds thousands of children daily our region, including children at our own YMCA Camp. I was pleased to welcome the Senator along with Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther, Deputy Supervisor Richard Sush, Legislature Chairman Scott Samuelson, Legislator Cora Edwards, Councilman Peter Briggs and our own local Chef Andy who, together with his staff, prepares these meals each and every day. Thank you Senator Gillibrand and also a special thank you to Terry M. Weir VanderMeulen and the dedicated team of volunteers from Seeds of Hope and the Town of Thompson Park Project who have worked tirelessly on the gardens and upkeep to keep our Town Park so beautiful.
