Yesterday, the all party condolence meeting to pay tributes to Mr.Venkatswamy was attended by representatives of all political parties including the honble chief minister KCR garu, union minister mr.bandaru dattatreya, former union ministers shri.Jaipal reddy and Mr. pallam raju, CPI general secy Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy, Aicc Secy Shri Kuntia, Jac chairman Kodandram garu , TDP senior leader Mr. Narsimlu, CPM senior leader shri.Joola kanti Ranga reddy, Aap party Venkat reddy, Ballard singer Gadder and other well wishers of Mr.Venkatswamy attended. They paid flowing tributes to his contribution to the society especially the poor people. They said he had his own right to live perception through which he got house sites for 75000 hut dwellers and his contribution to the labour movement and workers. His Pension scheme for coal workers and the in the private sector has benefitted crores of people. His efforts in ensuring Singareni colleries and fertiliser corporation of India are removed from BIFR and safeguarding the jobs of lacs of workers was appreciated. During globalisation in 1992, he ensured, rural development budget to be increased to Rs 30000 crores from Rs 7000 crores so that rural people do not suffer from globalisation changes . His passion for telangana from 1969 ( injured in police firing) to be denied President of India due to his relentless fight for telangana in CWC was remembered. His idea of developing telangana by Pranahita project of giving water to districts of karimnagar and adilabad and the 1200 mw power plant at chennur was recognised. Although he was only 10 th class ur du medium educated, he established Dr.B.R. Ambedkar educational institutions so that good education is given to poor students who work for a living and pass in compartmental with no donations but on par with private educational institutions. They said the message to learn from Mr.Venkatswamy was to be with people and resolve their problems with determination and vigour. The honble chief minister announced a memorial in memory of Mr.GV and the govt would celebrate his birthday and also write about him in text books. Fitting tributes were paid at this programme organised by a committee headed by chairperson Shanta Sinha ( Padmasri and Magsasay Awardee) , chief patron Mr.Suresh Reddy and Mr.J.B.Raju Gaddam family thank the people for their support and their valuable messages.
