Yesterday the class of 75 lost one of our fellow graduates. Scott Sessler passed away after a battle with cancer. I first met Scott when he moved to Syosset back in the 4th grade. In the spring that year this little red head was the shortstop for Bargain Center. This meant that he had some serious game. But then he did strike out Johnny Bench in a commercial for Keds. Scott and I were in the same Hebrew School carpool and I will always remember him and his brother Lee getting into the car wearing football helmets whenever my mom was driving. Yes my mom was scarey behind the wheel. Scott was also one of the original members of the riding club. Scott and I still never got over it when in 7th grade the girls of the riding club moved on to older guys. Getting dumped for the first time was not easy. There will always be fond memories of playing ball with Scott, Eric, Carl and Nickey on Patricia lane. As we know those were special years. Scott has 2 amazing boys, Ryan and Jordan. His face would light up whenever he would talk about them. Scott met his wife Andrea at sleep away camp and although they split up a few years ago he never lost his love and respect for her. He told me thru his battle she has been amazing right by his side. Scott also met another terrific lady Julia Dash. I remember when he met her at Prime. He was trying to hit on her and she had no desire to talk to him. But eventually she saw what Scott was all about and they became the best of friends. Scott always had an amazing ability to laugh at himself. One thing we used to always kid about was Scotts best move on the football field was running out of bounds. He told me thru this battle he would not run out of bounds. Unfortunately he lost the battle. Scott used to kid how he was the coolest guy in our graduating class. Well in many ways he was. This is not easy for me and I have rambled on but we will miss you Scott. Funeral is this Friday at 10AM at Guttermans in Syosset.
