Yesterday, the developers of the (work-in-progress) flight sim, IL-2 Sturmovik : Battle of Stalingrad, gave us a preview of its single-player campaign (near-complete). The campaign comprises 5 chapters, with a number of missions within each chapter. The 5 chapters are designed to cover the period of the Battle of Stalingrad (Aug 1942 - Feb 1943) - starting with the initial German offensive on the city, the Soviet counter-offensive, the Soviet encirclement of the German Sixth Army, and its ultimate annihilation. The attached clip shows the short introductory video clips to Chapter 1 (Days Before Counteroffensive) and Chapter 2 (Uranus - the Soviet strategic operation to encircle the German Sixth Army). The clips are made using CGI - theyre not taken from the sim itself. Btw, the first clip has that very stirring Russian song, Sacred War, playing in the background - definitely one of my favourites ... and yours? Hehe!
