Yesterday the leadership and public reps visited a number of schools. We visited schools in the South Zone 5 a lot of kids aint registered mainly because there are few Xhosa medium schools for primary grades particularly Grade 1. But also lack of planning from parents bringing kids on the last minute instead of preregistration a year ahead. But the Masiphumelele High school was already teaching on day one which was impressive. They increased pass rate by 4% last year to 74% and are aiming at 80% for 2015. We must support schools on an ongoing basis not just when they open. Thanx Cde Dee Badela we made a great team.
