Yesterday, the old movie Aan, produced by Mehbook Khan, renowned Director-Producer, was being screened on some Channel. I had never been able to watch it in full and not even last night but I have read and heard a lot about it. Dalip, Nadira and Premnath with Nimmi was the main cast. It outdoor locales -Igatpuri forest near Bombay, Narsinhgadh, Devgadh village and Indore, were as spectacular as could be view in the film. The song.......दिल में छुपा के प्यार का (https://youtube/watch?v=Y_Ylu5qLEyM) was filmed at Indore. Somebody had told me two years ago that the road, thickly wooded by huge Mango trees had withered. However, some vestige of this old road remain but have been engulfed in the last 60 years by ever growing appetite of the property developers and rise in ambient temperature of Indore city due to vehicular traffic, clearance of forest in the environs of the city, particularly on the AB Road side and total destruction of the rivulet that runs through the city. I think, the history of process through which the production went and the response of the critics and audience after its release is more interesting that the story of the film or acting by artists.
