Yesterday turned a little more hectic than I had first planned, - TopicsExpress

Yesterday turned a little more hectic than I had first planned, but in a good way...which in our world means lives saved. I have loads of friends in the rescue world. One of my closest pals is over at Amherst Humane Society. Amongst many other reasons, I adore her for her impeccable taste in dogs. At this point, I would feel comfortable blindly walking into her shelter, and out with whoever she recommended. Shes just a great judge of doggy character. As usual, she was dead on with this girl when she texted yesterday morning to tell me about chyanne. 20 pounds of good snuggly family dog, she is mellow without being dull. She greeted both my pack and her foster families (thanks Tammy and John) with a tentative tail wag and a calmness that I seldom see in a dog SURROUNDED by a horde of big strange canines. Bottom line. She is a good one! While I was there I took a video of a young husky mom and her family. I didnt get 5 miles away when texts started coming in from fosters willing to take her in. Because we had several volunteers whom are well versed in the breed, we lined up a second foster for a male husky that was there as well. As the day went on, I spoke to several other foster homes,.....one of which happily volunteered to pull a few adorable hounds from another rural shelter thats bursting at the seams. I am excited for Chelsea because this will be her first experience riding out and pulling her own fosters. To me, seeing them from shelter all the way to adoption day just makes the experience that much cooler. We will keep you apprised of all of our new and (soon to be) new fur kids as we get to know them better. Laura
