Yesterday was Jaetons last day of chemo for the induction period - TopicsExpress

Yesterday was Jaetons last day of chemo for the induction period of his treatment. He also received blood transfusion number three for low hemoglobin. His new scans are set for the 8th and 9th of this month and we are praying like crazy for the tumor to be shrunk to next to nothing, not touching any nerves, vessels, away from the hip joint, and in a location that is easy to remove with minimal complications. We have an appointment on the 11th to review the results of the scans. That day both cant come soon enough and yet is frightening all at the same time. We had some issues with the orthopedic surgeon in Albuquerque, recommending a radical amputation of his hip and left leg and then saying no surgery just radiation, so we will be receiving a second opinion in San Antonio. That appointment is scheduled for September 15 and Im sure surgery will happen shortly after. The main thing now is just praying, sending positive thoughts, good mojo, white light, whatever you believe in that the chemo had a marked effect on the tumor. I have to tell you that we have been incredibly blessed with his cancer being localized, then with him handling the chemotherapy so well with minimum complications, that I cant help but truly believe that the tumor is almost gone and soon will be removed completely from his body. At that point we finish up with a lot more chemo, but in the end we will be celebrating a healthy boy!! Thank you all for the continued thoughts, well wishes, and prayers. It is working and we need those focused prayers, etc. for continued luck with this disease.
