Yesterday was a beast. By course description and looking at it on - TopicsExpress

Yesterday was a beast. By course description and looking at it on paper, it should have been OK, instead it was one of the hardest. They throw the term flow around very loosely. Just like a river can flow from class 1 to 5 rapids, a trail can be sweetly mellow or harsh and unforgiving, and still be flowy. It may not have been the best trail for day six as temps were in the 90s and the climbs were relentless. With less than 2 minutes separating top 3 in my cat, we went for blood from the gun. By the end, it was more about last man standing and I rolled in bruised and battered but first in our group and we using first for the whole shebang. I was blessed to have no mechanicals on courses that were eating bikes and drivetrains. Progold is hands down the best stuff out there, only reapplying once after day 3 that featured dustbowls and water crossings. Special ed also came through riding way above what an xc machine is normally asked to do Thanks for the prayers and encouragement, it kept me going.
