Yesterday was a day of highs and lows. Im stupid excited for my baby girl Joelle for winning the Outstanding Tiger award in her class for kindness, integrity and overall academic achievement. She got others too but that was the big one. She was recognized for creative writing, math and reading. At the beginning of school year we struggled with her maturity and it didnt look like this school year would be great. She has come a VERY long way and I am proud of her. I cant take credit for her achievements but its moments like this that make me think I must be doing something right! So theres the high of the day. For the low: My little man Zac had his cardiologist appointment. He goes regularly to monitor his VSD heart murmur for which we have been lucky that he has had no problems with so far. They did an EKG and ultrasound. The ultrasound revealed that the left side of his heart that works a little harder has become even more enlarged and there is a leak in his aortic valve. These are the signs of a benign heart murmur causing problems. His pictures and records have been submitted to doctors in new orleans for review to consider surgery to close his murmur. The doctor feels it is very likely that he will need surgery soon before more problems occur. We will know in 4-6 weeks. We thought we were out of the woods with all this and now Im terrified. My friends and family have been on this journey with us since the beginning and I owe it to you guys to let you know whats going on... I love you all. Thanks for the support.
