Yesterday was a milestone for RMF’s substation expansion project at Rutgers University! The day involved the delivery of all major pieces of equipment to be set on their pads. The design for this expansion includes 26 kV circuit breakers, 2 transformers, and 4160 V switchgear. Almost 6 months of site work was needed in preparation for this delivery. The project team had to coordinate a 200 ton crane with 2 operators, 5 tractor trailers, and a highway closure. The set-up, delivery, and shut-down took 12-hours during a 20°F windy day and was an absolute success!
