Yesterday was a nice day. We had to cancel our whale watching trip because of my cedula (Ecuadorian id) situation. I have until 8/15 to get it before my request letter expires. I am still waiting patiently for Quito to fix my name misspelling. I cant get my cedula until this error is fixed. We went down to el Centro and ran into Edgar, or favorite English speaking security cop. Then we shared a park bench with a nice 85 year old Ecuadorian man. Tom had a conversation with him in Spanish. We went shopping at Tia and got some food to donate to the family with the missing daughter (Please send your prayers and positive energy that she is found soon). FYI: If you live in Cuenca, you can still donate food at Carolinas bookstore. They are not delivering until Monday afternoon. We walked down to Fabianos for a late lunch and it was closed until 4:30 so we ended up at Santorinos for sandwiches. Went to the post office to mail postcards to the grands but it was already closed. Then back to the park where we saw the cutest indigenous couple being video taped walking around the park. I think it was their anniversary the way their car was decorated. Life is always an adventure in Ecuador!
