Yesterday was a sad day in Florida, and for us all. I remove race from the Martin/Zimmerman case to review it somewhat objectively. As a gunowner - we have a special responsibility - to preclude misuse of it. Had Mr. Zimmerman followed police dispatcher advice - and remained inside his vehicle - this sad spectacle and unwarranted death may have been avoided. While the verdict is apparently legally correct (in Florida) - Mr. Zimmerman will have to live with this for the rest of his life. I hope other cop-wannabes do not draw the incorrect conclusion from this case - that this was justified. It was not.
