Yesterday was a successful day for Leeds Roller Dolls: The Whip-Its beat the London Rockin Rollers Rising Stars in their first ever open doors encounter 169-107 (HT 93-52), but didnt beat the differential set by Derby Data Europe (200-119), It was fierce, it was hard fought, it was breathless at times, and it was a beauty to behold. The Rebel Roses had the eye of the tiger, taking the All Stars 215-95 (HT 88-46) in a barnstorming performance that was every bit as exciting as the previous bout, and thrashed the prediction (DDE: 150-141). Penalties played heavily against the All Stars on occasion (leaving a single Blocker on track at least once), but no more so than the Rebel Roses overall. Depending on the first days play at SKOD - a skate odyssey the two teams may get their rematch sooner rather than later. Before that, Leeds will test their mettle in a one-day tournament against Hot Wheel Roller Derby and Roller Derby Team Toulouses Nothing Toulouse on May 10th.
