Yesterday was a tough day. We laid my Auntie Celia to rest. She walked in to the hospital on her own strength suffering from some discomfort in her abdomen. I wont get in to all the details, but she wasnt having all kind of health issues prior. By all accounts she was fine. The day I went to see her she was sleeping, and I left her a note. I headed off to the Caribbean with the understanding that she was feeling better. I expected that I would have gone to see her within a day or 2 of getting back only to be told by my mother that she had passed away on the Sunday. Ive been to alot of funerals over the past 2 years..I think as many as 17.. It really always serves as a stark reminder that this journey is a very temporary one. Like many, I too have been guilty of getting so absorbed in to my own little world, that from time to time it is easy to lose sight of what matters most..time with loved ones and friends. I just want to encourage anyone out there who has been thinking about reaching out to a loved one, making amends, or express gratitude for their contribution in to your life..DO IT NOW while you have the chance. You truly never know when you or they could be called home. I am grateful that I was able to be there for my mother who was hit pretty hard by this one. I was also blessed to meet family that I have never met before. My pledge is to make EVERY moment count.. I will NEVER take one minute of it for granted. May God Keep you Auntie Celia. You are dearly missed already. With love, honour, and respect. Noel
