Yesterday was a tremendous blessing that God graced me to be a part of. Through many years of blood, sweat, tears, aches, pains,victories, and defeats, I have finally received my Gracie Jiu-Jitsu purple belt under the legendary Royce Gracie. God has used BJJ in my Life to teach me many valuable lessons. Im incredibly grateful to many people, who helped me reach this place in my Journey. If you know me, then you know that first and foremost I am grateful to my Lord and risen Saviour, Jesus Christ. Also, Im grateful to Royce Gracie and his family for creating this incredible art and sport, that has revolutionized martial arts forever. Im truly thankful to my Main instructor Halle Hair (a.k.a. Snake), who provides a place of high-quality, authentic, affordable, no non-sense Gracie Jiu-Jitsu instruction. In my opinion he consistently sets standards and does not teach what he has not does not used. I appreciate all my teammates and former instructors who had a big influence on my technique and understanding of Bjj, Bart Russell, Jeff Jimmo, Darren Earnhardt, Tuan Hoang, and Fred Jennings. Besides God, there is one person that I would like to thank more than anyone, thats my wife Zebony LaVie who has supported me through the thick and thin. Through the countless massages, complaining, failures, and late nights. On nights when I wanted to stay home, she held me accountable and encouraged me to continue to achieve my goals. I wouldnt be this far along without her. I thank God for her and for everyone else who is taking this journey with me and contributing to my growth in some sort of way. With Gods grace I look forward to striving to be my best and reaching my maximum potential.
