Yesterday was a very special day for my dad. I took a trip to Washington D.C. with him on the HONOR FLIGHT. We had a very memorable trip. We visited the WWII War Memorial, Marine Corps Memorial i.e. Iwo Jima Memorial, And the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier."Everyone should see this" The one event that sticks in my mind the most is when I told pop to pose for a picture at the Iwo Jima Memorial. As I was backing up to get the hole statue, 78ft tall, in the picture, I turned around to see dad saluting the monument. Saluting all his friends that were lost while fighting with him on that tiny Inland in the pacific. Everyone on our bus saw what dad did and when he returned to the bus he was welcomed with a STANDING OVATION, hand shakes, and lots of hugs. What a trip!!!! Pics. to follow, David
