Yesterday was a very up and down day SubhanAllah. So I was attending my family members wedding in Luton and Alhamdulilah weddings are always joyous occasions. All of a sudden i see people looking out of the window, at first I pay no attention. Then by chance I have to go to my car, so I am walking down the stairs and as I am approaching the front door to leave I see so many flashing lights, police cars, ambulances and the fire brigade, the road is blocked off on this very busy high street, so my initial reaction is, I saw a fire truck so it must be a fire right, then I see a couple of brothers and they tell me that a little girl got run over by a bus (Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajiun) and one of the brothers said he saw the aftermath of the accident which was very graphic, the mother just fainted he said subhanAllah, my heart goes out to the parents I am so sorry for their loss, their little angel who was 3 years old will be in jannah InshaaAllah! My mind straight away started thinking SubhanAllah on one side of this road people are celebrating a wedding and on one part of this road, tragedy just took place with a life being lost. Both sets of peoples life’s will change now in drastic ways SubhanAllah. Happiness and sadness work hand in hand in this life. Both of these emotions show life is very temporary, this is dunya, here today gone tomorrow, the translation in english of Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un comes to mind in such tragic situations, indeed to ALLAH we belong and to Him we shall return! May Almighty ALLAH (subhanahu wa ta’ala) make it easy for the parents/family of the lost child Ameen. May they be reunited in Jannah where the only emotion we will feel is happiness. - Omar Esa
