Yesterday was all about taking the stirks (last years calves) to market. The day before was cleaning them up, a euphamism for getting the muck off their back ends. It is nothing if not glamourous being a farmer (and Senior Farm Labourer). Then, persuade them to go into the lorry and off to the market. Mixed emotions around Auchenage. It is always a big day when they go. It is sad to see them all go but they were all looking really good and made a decent price. It is starting to look a little less crowded around the fields.
