Yesterday was an extremely happy rescue day. Today, not a good one. First let me thank Laurie Martin for introducing me to Collie Rescue Network. And a huge thank you to Jennifer Eaton-MacDonald for all her good work, and for entrusting TeddyBear to me. This afternoon, after struggling with some undiagnosed but likely neurological issue, Teddy had a prolonged grand mal seizure. By some miracle, his beloved Dr. Becky Holvik was at the clinic, donating her time and we were able to see her. Ultimately, it was my decision to let him go. So Teddy passed away quietly and sweetly, right beside me, with both Dr. Becky and Sable there to say goodbye. Sable was more comic relief than sorrowful, which was actually helpful for the humans. Again, I want to thank Dr. Becky, who did SO much for him, in the way of research, care, thoughtfulness and kindness. He also had a very loving and special friend in Sandra Spencer and I felt good putting on his beautiful red collar that she sent him for Christmas, one last time. Im grateful he was with me for a year and a half. Glad he was able to enjoy some happy times, adventures, hikes and runs, and lots of other good things. Thank you so much Teddy. You will be missed, but always remembered.
