Yesterday was an interesting day for my oldest daughter Leann. Having a scheduled double header in her soccer league to make up for a missed game due to the weather we knew she was gonna have a long day. It was then compounded when we learned not all the other girls on her team could stay for the second game. That meant her team had just enough players to play, no subs. The other team had a deeper bench and proceeded to sub out as normal. Leanns team played to a 1-1 tie until the very end of the game there was a penalty shot (some say by a crackpot call by the ref) and they lost by one goal. Regardless the girls kept their heads high as they played with everything they had and kept it up facing a team that was fresher. While heartbreaking to see that happen I am happy my daughter was taught that lesson. She still loves playing and cannot wait to get back at it next week. Go Leann and go Crusaders!
