Yesterday was eventful for some and not so for others in the world - TopicsExpress

Yesterday was eventful for some and not so for others in the world of Major League Baseball. Im curious what the Oakland Athletics were thinking trading Cespedes? Dont mind me for adding my sarcasm and insult to injury here, but curious if the As ownership & management consulted with their former colleague from management now in the New York Mets organization Sandy Alderson on that move? It wouldnt surprise me the least if they spoke. Far as the Mets are concerned? I didnt think anything would happen, nor do I see anything happen from now until the end of the season. Unlikely to be contenders, though continue to show remarkable improvement and considerable progress compared to games played in May & June both, July the Mets were W-15 L-10. Their first month of the season they were able to play above .500. Hard to say or tell just yet if Sandy is right or wrong for not making any moves? As it is this has been a very confusing season for this club. Im of the opinion the team wins when it wants, loses when it wants as well. Cant say the talent and ability isnt there. I dont think the issue is about Terry Collins the manager either. Met fans as it is drive me crazy with their crazy expectations. They insist the club needs the big bat. My question for these idiotic fans, what is a big bat? How does a big bat equal to or guarantee more wins? So that is a false expectation thinking a big bat would equal a big difference in the long run. Last part of the staff I need to address? Pitching. Wheeler. Has to go, has to be demoted, sent back to Vegas. Hes Tommy John Surgery waiting to happen. He cant get out of any inning of any game he has started this season without throwing less than 20 pitches an inning. He buckles more or less under pressure. De Grom on the other hand is the complete opposite. Hes far more conservative, and keeps his pitch counts to a minimum on most occasions. If we didnt have pitchers like Wheeler who typically go anywhere between 5 1/2 - 6 2/3 innings on average, our bull-pen would be a little more consistent. But giving credit, when credit is due, the bull-pen is improving.
