Yesterday was just a ho-hum day until I pulled away from the drive-thru at McDonald’s. When it was my turn to pay at the window the lady said, “Your bill was paid by the driver in front of you.” What! How awesome is that! That driver paid a debt that he didn’t even owe. I know who that driver is and I can tell him “thank you.” It put a smile on my face for the rest of the day! I didn’t know the driver behind me but I paid for his bill anyway. His debt wasn’t as large as mine. I wonder how I would have felt if his bill was real high? Would I have said, “oh, that’s too much I can’t pay his debt.” All morning I have been thinking and this whole experience can be related to Jesus. He paid a debt that he did not owe. He died on the cross to pay for the sins of every person who has ever existed. He didn’t sift through and say, “oh, she has too much sin in her life, I can’t pay her debt.” All sin makes us sinners and it doesn’t matter how big or small they are. When we ask Jesus into our heart and life he forgives us of all of our sins and our debt is wiped clean. JESUS PAID IT ALL! I praise you Jesus, for paying my debt! for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely/declared not guilty by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Romans 3:23-24. Oh yeah! Thanks Pastor Hugh Kelly for lunch!
