Yesterday was my last day of work for the week and it was dead slow. I was given a cleaning assignment for busy work, even though I was keeping busy. Shortly before leaving, I learned that my line partner had been talking shit about me again while I wasnt around. It kind of ruined my mood, which had been good all day. Tired and a little depressed, I still managed to take Stephanie to karaoke at the Lions Den where we had a pretty good time. I added Doug Stones I Never Knew Love to my routine. Today I planned to go for a hike but woke up feeling like someone took a baseball bat to my back, so I decided to postpone the hike. Instead, Stephanie and I went thrifting with her mom. I got some real goodies today, a lot of things Ive been searching for weeks or months: finally found a mandolin slicer with julienne blades, also finally found a stock pot with steamer basket Ive been looking for. Picked up a couple more knives: two unnamed ceramic knives, a paring knife and a small chefs knife - the owner had set them aside for me. Got an Emeril-brand sandwich/panini press. Picked up some other kitchen wares, and some assorted plates for presentations. Getting ready for another night of karaoke tonight - we hadnt gone in a few weeks.
