Yesterday was my third powerlifting co and perhaps the my favorite one of all, I came in fat and happy and with nothing to lose but experience to gain This is my third attempt squat, and the real reason I chose to compete again only 4 weeks after nationals. 180KG ON THE BAR AND I FINALLY GOT IT. It was the hardest battle of my life and its hard to describe the mental game involved in achieving something youve been chasing down and training your ass off for. My nose blew a blood vessel half way up when it got grindy and my entire body weight shifted left since Im squatting in flats meaning its easier for my extremely flat footed left foot to cave causing my left knee to internally rotate as you can see when I got stuck. Also what no one knows is that a I have a valgus in my ankle and slightly in my knee because of the flat foot which makes it difficult to maintain stability without Caving and collapsing. But it wasnt worth dropping that bar. Nothing can describe that feeling in those seconds, seeing the blood and being numb to the pain and only focusing on rising back up again. A big shoutout to Mike Jones for his constant support and coaching, as well as his subtle tips and cues that have a way of making you succeed. I couldnt have got that one without you. And yes Ill bring you donuts. Wassim Chahrouk a massive thankyou for keeping my mental state positive throughout the whole day. Especially with the PR attempts and after missing my first bench. William Le you did a great job helping everyone out with coaching cues and nose Tork and baby powder and everything. You guys are the best ! Eddie Noshie, the man that keeps our bodies from breaking all year round, a great thankyou to you as well for the support and the quick massages in the warmup room. And finally to the #adonisfam who can be heard screaming in the video, came down to Wollongong to watch and to compete, you guys brought the house down and the atmosphere you created cant be replicated anywhere else ❤️
