Yesterday was not a good technology day. First my phone wouldnt turn on; then the TV service went out; then someone at customer service asked me to find a power cord that might fit into their specialized satellite box to ensure it wasnt a cord issue. Unfortunately that was not the correct response to my situation. Neither was mailing me a new box. 2 supervisors and an escalation team later, and they are here at 8am sharp :). Turns out they have to rewire the entire system. Apparently the first crack team used the original cabling from the 80s to run a high tech satellite system, and that was probably the root cause of the main box failure. Hmmm. Go figure. This team is perfectly fine with spending the time to do it right. Some people still care about quality and not passing the buck.
