Yesterday was one of the most difficult days. We waited all day - TopicsExpress

Yesterday was one of the most difficult days. We waited all day for the OR and then did not get Kylie back to her room until 11:15PM. She was in good spirits, but hungry! The rest of the night brought more pain and fear. Anita and Kylie prayed through this time and found encouragement through the worst of it in 2 Corinthians 4:16-18, “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” The surgery found a secondary infection (not Clostridium) that was likely the cause of the night fevers. This has led to a big change in wound care. She now has bandages on her leg with no wound vacs. This is a simple statement for a very big change. These dressings will have to be changed in the OR and she is once again on antibiotics. The maintenance of the outer bandages are done in the room and have to be done frequently because of the wound drainage. These changes ares associated with much pain. This is considered a setback for reconstruction because the timing of those plans will have to adjust accordingly. Today is a day for rest and tomorrow will bring a change of the dressings in the OR. My gut reaction to this was a big sigh, but I find comfort in the apostle Paul’s word in 2 Timothy 1:12, “For this reason I also suffer these things, but I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day.” The Lord has a perfect plan and we trust Him to do what is best for Kylie and our family. We continue to be uplifted by your prayers of intercession and support for which we are very grateful. —Charlie
