Yesterday was quite warm and I got the chance to put on more feed - TopicsExpress

Yesterday was quite warm and I got the chance to put on more feed rims and sugar blocks to the rest of the single deep colonies and nucs. Also got to take a peek at some of the colonies I am curious about. The two strains I am overwintering for the first time are the Pol-lines and Pure VSH. (Remember, these were all mated here with my current Carni stock) They are all doing excellent. The Italian influence seems evident, they have quite large populations and are still rearing a bit of brood, where as my normal Carnie lines usually overwinter in smaller colonies unless they have been really fed up in fall. They were all very tolerant of having the hive opened at 51 degree temps. Even when I did a little digging. Click on each photo below for details.
