Yesterday was the 2nd anniversary of the death of Jerry Craney, the magnificent music director for Holy Name of Jesus Catholic parish in Beech Grove, Indiana. When I first met him in 1988, I immediately fell in love with this man for his remarkable dedication and love for Holy Name. I was just visiting at the time and he invited me to sing in the choir at a Mass and I was attracted to this parish. As you all know I decided to stay in Indiana and since this was the birth parish of Vivian, we joined as a couple and joined in the tradition that HN is known for. I sang in the choir until I left to serve as a Pastoral Associate but I always enjoyed my visits back and Jerry was always at his best when we caught up to him. I am on a few of the Christmas recordings on this video and a few of the pictures. a week later, Vivians dad would also pass away. He was in Jerrys choir from the beginning and is seen as a young man in the first year choir picture to a gray haired man in the last pictures.
