Yesterday was the last day of me being the President of Monash Entrepreneursbip Club. Poooff.. made a lot of new friends and formed a whole group of ppl aka family in Monash (comms and sub-comms). I have thanked each and every committee during the meeting yesterday. Today, i would like to thank all the subcoms (nicholas, james, tjun kit, sui keat and d gang, bonnie, pei fang, jia way, calvin, wincent, rachel, soo jean and the group and others (around 60+ i think). Hahaha. Without you folks, our events wouldnt be so successful! Glad to work with you guys as a team! Not to forget, friends that have supported us by joining the club and participated in our events. Because of you, YES! You, you, and you! MEC grew from 60-70 members to 500 plus members in 2014! Special thanks to sponsors such as KPMG, PWC, Rock Cafe, Zalora, Juice Works, Denim, Escape Room, our friends from Sunway BIS, Sunway YES, Taylors E&I, BYIC friends from different campuses, CNS Division, Monash School of Business, Monashs admin (event manager, marketing manager, student well-being and activities manager). Last but not the least, thanks to Deputy Minister of Edu, YB P.Kamalnathan for officiating our previous event, the Youth Bazaar. Summary for MEC 2014 Events: Monashians Startup Challenge (first ever startup challenge in Monash by the club) Monash Comedy Central with more than 600 participants General meeting for both semester, 360 plus members that have attended (active members stats) Investment workshop with Bursa Young Investor Club, 300 plus participants. Youtb Bazaar, the very first bazaar organized in public with 71 vendors in total. thestar.my/News/Education/2014/10/12/Budding-entrepreneurs/ Spotted a large number of capable friends from the club, you guys could be great leaders one day. To those, who i might have offended by not giving you what you have requested for, hopefully (someday) you will be able figure it out. A leader might not be the best in his team. putting capability aside, a leader needs to be: -emotionally stable, higher EQ. Dont screw someone or make decisions when you are angry. -good attitude -able to communicate well with the people -humble and friendly -see a bigger picture, seek for opinions but not asking someone else to make the decisions. and yes, dont be crazy over power or authority. Leader is just a title, leadership is about the qualities that you have in order to lead.
