Yesterday was the saddest day for Greene County. While you thought your Industrial Development Board was your bankers, your neighbors and your friends, they have brought in what is really known as a nitric acid plant. On a troubled river. And yesterday morning - so many came to hear what the IDB was gonna do about resubmitting as a public utility. When they have a letter from Old Knox Utility Board telling them they cant. But in the most shameful display I have ever witnessed in government, they did not turn on the microphones, they kept their voices low. Eddie Overholt asked if they could speak up and they arrested him. Eddie Overholt is Poppadocs restaurant, his wife, and his family. He is widely respected and I think a great man. We have it on film. A similar case in West TN was won in Federal Court. Your tax dollars are being played with like fire by an Industrial Development Board that has forgotten the rules. And now the poor people of Midway are screwed and so is Cocke County and Hamblen and Douglas Lake. Its a sad day when your neighbors steal your money and decide whats good for you in secrecy. And I, for one, will not stand for it. I was embarrassed for Greene County
