Yesterday was world mental health day. Wishing myself and everyone on my friends list a healthy mind. As this article on METRO says, It isn’t cool (though it could feel cool for a short while); It doesn’t make you a ‘really nice person’; It’s f**king embarrassing; No one really knows what to say to you about it; It doesn’t stop you leading a happy, successful life (mm.. sometimes it does. The article says, although you might have to take pills regularly and monitor your condition); You don’t have to tell anyone if you don’t want to; and Nobody’s normal.. ( metro.co.uk/2014/10/10/world-mental-health-day-2014-14-things-you-only-know-if-youve-gone-mad-4901233/ ) Some common myths are exposed in another link, on The Independent -- Myths like Most people aren’t affected by mental health problems, People with mental health problems make unreliable employees, You can’t recover from mental illness and Mental illness only affects your mind. ( independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/features/world-mental-health-day-2014-the-misconceptions-broken-down-9786688.html ) Thanks to Ajith Kumar A S for both the links.
