Yesterday we celebrated the feast of the Holy Trinity. We declare - TopicsExpress

Yesterday we celebrated the feast of the Holy Trinity. We declare before each other and the world our belief in an eternal God manifest in Three persons --- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The doctrine of Three persons in one God is the core of our faith. When we were baptized, the Church blessed us by invoking the Trinity. Each time we make the sign of the Cross, we affirm our faith in the trinity - three persons in one God. But more than that, what we celebrate is that all three persons shared in the work of our redemption. The Father sent us His Son, Jesus Christ , who became man. Christ than died for our sins and rose from the dead in glory. After Christs ascension into heaven, Gods Holy Spirit descended on Jesus followers and told them to go forth and baptize all nations. This is the history of faith that we celebrate -- The Nativity, Easter, the Ascension, and the missionary nature and identity of our Church -- the Body of Christ. This feast is the Churchs way of expressing gratitude for Gods endless love and the gift of eternal life that we are destined to share.
