Yesterday we get the national media wankathon over Louis van Gaal being appointed yesterday and having £200m to spend in the summer (not sure that would get them agreement with FFP if it really existed the same for all clubs, but we know they will pass, whether they spent £200m or £200bn…………and players like Mats Hummels, Marcos Reus and Ikay Gundogen (Dortmund, CL next season), Arjen Robben, Toni Kroos and Thomas Muller (all Bayern and CL next season), Andres Iniesta, Cesc Fabregas (Barca and CL next season) and Ronaldo, Luka Modric and Fabio Contraeo (all Real Madrid and CL next season) are all apparently just aching to join United next season, get this…..to WIN trophies and play for the BIGGEST CLUB in the world…..apparently none of them sides are either BIG enough or win trophies…….what game did I watch last season? They also conveniently failed yesterday in all this van Gaal “love affair” to mention the fact that in 2002/03 season, Louis van Gaal led Barcelona to 15th in La Liga……yep that is right FIFTEENTH out of TWENTY teams, and boardering on being relegated, when he was releaved of his duties they were 5 points clear of the drop, Radomir Antic took over and guided them to 6th that season before Rijkaard replaced him and won trophies again……following that Barca stint, he went to AZ Alkmaar where he won nothing and did reasonable (i.e. kept them in same League and in European challenging positions), then onto Bayern Munich 2008-11 where he averaged a 58% win rate and won 1 German cup & 1 Bundesliga in his time there (Borussia Dortmund x 2 were the other seasons League winners)……..and this is with a side like Bayern Munich in a corrupt and bent league he couldn’t hack it, he also was manager of Netherlands at the last European Championships where they were eliminated in the group stages. I can see this being another disaster, however, try getting the media to let you know of those FACTS and they tend to forget, but once again we win the title and all our team want to leave, and United didn’t win or compete for anything and they all want to stay along with the games major players all itching to join the revolution!!
