Yesterday we hosted the annual Terra Madre Day for 50 Slow Food Shoalhaven members with a bush tucker themed menu. Local elder Noel Butler & his partner Trish opened the event with a Welcome to Country followed by a traditional dance and talk about indigenous food. Owner / Chef John used many native ingredients in his menu such as warrigal greens & mushroom pate, emu meatballs with native mint, kangaroo loin with native pepperberry sauce, king fish with grated lime, lemon myrtle & macadamia crust served on paperbark with palm heart and macadamia ice cream on a wattleseed disc. All the guests & staff had a great time & the event was a big success! Thank you to everyone involved. Cheers, John & Heather
