Yesterday we laid a Hero to rest. We buried my step-father,Carl Irwin Trees. I should have posted this last evening but I just couldnt bring myself to do it. The viewing Sunday night and the service yesterday were well attended,he was well thought of and much loved by the folks in New Richmond and Laurel. I know in my heart that he is in a much better place and is enjoying reunions with friends and family,and he is no longer in pain or suffering. For that I am happy. Selfishly,I am very sad,I lost a wonderful step-dad,and a very special friend. He went from the beaches of France to Germany. He was in charge of a halftrack machine gun team. He would talk some about his experiences and up until he was close to death Pop still had nightmares. That is an awful heavy burden to carry for almost seventy years but he did it with his head held high. On a brighter note,mom is showing improvement,her appetite is returning and her therapy seems to be helping. I also want to thank all of you,my fb family for your prayers,caring words and support thru this time.You will never know how much it has meant to Nancy and me. Thank you all...
