Yesterday we visited Big Horn Canyon National Park. The day was very hot, in the 90s! The Canyon was very impressive with its 1,000 foot high cliffs! We did see some Wild Mustangs and a bunny. On the way home we took the scenic route, Alt. 14A, through the mountains. We found the Medicine Wheel (at 9,600 feet in elevation). This is an active Native American spiritual sacred site. This is more than 200 years old. Continuing on at about 8,000 feet, there are livestock pastures all around - there were cows, horses, deer and we even saw are first Elk. We then continued onto Burgess Junction - which is basically a lodge at the intersection of route 14. It was a late night and unfortunately, we missed the sunset on the other side of the Big Horn Mountains.
