Yesterday we were not allowed to protest outside rail bhavan against shameless rail fare hike by the NDA govt. The delhi police didnt want us to be seen outside the office of the rail ministry. They put us in a bus and dumped us at jantar mantar because we were told thats the place to protest!! Right now I can see on tv the police has picked up anti-fyup student protestors from central sec and detained them at parliament street thana.and this pathetic horrible DCP Central Delhi is violently grabbing students from DU and JNU by the neck and dragging them inside the thana. This man is also seen pushing media persons and snatching their mikes. Why this high anger and violence against students on a very basic issue of not playing with the future of a university and its students?! Its the DU VC, the ex-hrd minister and all their cronies who should be in police custody for imposing an illegal system on 1000s of students. The main thing is the obvious rise in police action against all kinds of protests. There are no questions, asked no answers given, just pick and detain! There is increasingly NO space for protests here in the already shrunken space. Tough days ahead at the barricades!
