Yesterday we were told that one if the new IV antibiotics was causing her kidneys to start shutting down. She is on her 5th IV antibiotic now. They just drew more labs to see how her kidneys are doing after the change in meds. If her kidneys look good then she will go home today with home healthcare coming out to the house. This antibiotic also has to prove that it can keep pushing the infection away. When they unpacked and repacked the wound yesterday the site looked much more healthy than when we came in (even though it is an open wound now).
