Yesterday, when Senator Feinstein released the report on Enhanced - TopicsExpress

Yesterday, when Senator Feinstein released the report on Enhanced Interrogation/Torture, she didnt open up a can of worms. That can has been open for a decade. We were all aware that the CIA and others on behalf of the US were conducting such interrogations. No, what Senator Feinstein did was dump that open can out on the dining room table for all to see. So now, we dont just know about the worms we can see them. We can see the slime they are covered in; we can see the dirt in which they thrive. Some are asking us to see past the slime and dirt. They want us to concentrate on the bountiful harvest of foiled terror plots that were made possible by the worms working that dirt into a fertile soil of actionable intelligence. I guess the real question is: With the worms and soil on the table with our harvest do we still find the harvest palatable? Do we treat it like distasteful medicine and choke it down because its good for us? Or, do we reject it outright because we now see it as poisoned fruit? Sure, I too question the Senators motives on releasing this report yesterday and Im sure I will discuss those at some point as well. But regardless of her motives, we now have to address the report and any wrongdoing or crimes others executed on our behalf. We must become informed, form opinions based on the facts, and decide if we as a people will condone these type actions in these situations or reject them outright.
