Yesterday when i asked the next happening places to go to,many people recommended Monalisa for an oldies night. First I went to Daytona in Ntinda with a couple of friends for some drinks before heading to Monalisa. Gosh! on getting there at midnight,There was no single parking. Cars were filled everywhere and the place was over crowded,Mind you,this is Monday night but people are massively out happening. The music was good(oldies),but in the middle of the gig,the MC/DJ Emma(CBS) stopped the music and began throwing praises to Tito Tongo the proprietor who had been rumoured dead and bla bla....people were getting fed up,then there came a dance troupe,I dont even remember the name which jumped on stage to entertain the big man,(not us because we went for oldies)Chameleone,Hilderman,Ragga Dee,Lexus Kalema and many other artists were there. Tongo finally came on stage to say a word. He gave a whooping $10,000 in 100 bills cash to the 10men and women troupe each taking $1000 which was shared there and then in the vicinity of everyone. There after pledged $5000 for ettafali. To my surprise,when i went to the toilet to ease my self,there was no running water in the men toilets. The cleaner was using a Jerican to get water from an outside well staged drum to flush the toilets and urinals. From the look of things,this situation has been like this for a couple of months.The whole wash room is extremely filthy.I wondered how a person throws $10,000 in showbizz without feeding the business which makes him money.
