Yesterday, while walking the hall, in front of Ryans room, I ran into a mom I have talked to a few times now. Her daughter is 8 and has a cancer that stems from the nervous system and forms very painful tumors all over her body. While we were filling each other in on our kids Christmas, she said something to me. She said I dont know what its like to have a healthy child. Her daughter was barely 2 when she got her diagnosis, a diagnosis that does not have a happy ending. I didnt think too much about those words at that moment, but in the middle of the night, while I was staring at my handsome son, it hit me...I DO know what its like to have a healthy child. I am blessed beyond measure for those healthy days AND I know I WILL have a healthy child again in the very near future. God, yet again, has shown me exactly what I needed to see/hear. My entire life HE has done that for me. In every trial I went thru, he showed me HE was there, where I was, where I could be, and where I will be. I think those words, that she said to me, will stay with me forever. Kiss your kids twice today and thank God for their health and their love. God blessed us with these children, lets not waste a single moment. Xo
