Yesterday woke up at dawn, feeling a little funky (remember 10,500 ft). Decided the correct solution was to lift my morale by a small ass kicking. Drove up the White Mountain road and picked out a small mountain to climb. Campito Mountain (elevation 11,543 ft) was a 700 foot climb which took about 50 minutes, no trail. Continued on to Bristlecone Pine grove. Very ancient trees. Sketched for about two hours, but there were Thunderstorms. Decided that between that and effects of altitude I needed a night in a hotel. Drove in rain [two hours] down to Bishop, California. Slept like a rock. Probably hung over from the long drive as much as anything.
