Yesterdays journey topped out at 28hours door to door! A delay in Madrid meant even with my best OJ Simpson airport run through Heathrow, I missed my connection in London by literally seconds as I came skidding up to the gate the door had just been closed. Grateful for the great British Airways agent who promptly rebooked me to LA and then to Seattle - adding a full 8 additional hours of travel.....oof.....however once I popped my head back into being open to the adventure it was smooth sailing from there! Won the international travel lottery with an empty middle seat on the 11 1/2 hour flight, watched 4 movies - btw - if you dont have some larger noise canceling headphones for travel - I cant recommend them enough - stil cant decide if I look like an idiot - or cool - and at the end of the day didnt care when small child two rows behind me had a melt down 😉- played with apps on my phone, read a bit and rolled each beautiful experience from the last two weeks over again in my mind. Smoothly sailed through customs and immigration at LAX - was given several welcome backs by the C&I officers, was upgraded to first class on the last leg home (felt like an international superstar...hee hee), sat next to Dennis Haysbert on the way back to Seattle, and was deeply grateful to my awesomely crazy superstar of a friend who came and picked me up at the stroke of midnight instead of 4pm as originally planned - it was fantastic to see a familiar face at the end of a tremendous experience. Now, to begin reentry into life here at home! Some meal planning, lots of laundry 😳and a run to the grocery store all before a sit in the comfort of mi casa to watch the Hawks win today!!!
