Yesterdays meeting at NPWS in Jindabyne focussed on the monitoring - TopicsExpress

Yesterdays meeting at NPWS in Jindabyne focussed on the monitoring process of trial access tracks to Wilderness areas and the thresholds for action on the part of the Managers and stakeholders in dealing with issues as they arise. Issues such as erosion , compaction , heritage sites, weeds and social interaction between users. The reason for this process is to establish a plan to address issues of impact as they arise and have a response to those who would criticise our access to Wilderness areas. The Government and NPWS are taking an objective approach to the issue and providing us with a legitimate and constructive method of overcoming objections to our access. This is no doubt bureaucratic and annoying but we must be prepared to jump those hurdles to continue to expand our access track network. Stick with us , we are making progress albeit slowly .
